With the vigorous development of plastic machinery and equipment, the variety of plastic pumps is constantly increasing, and they are increasingly replacing other types of non-metallic material pumps. What are the common materials of fluoroplastic pumps?

1. Polyfluoroethylene propylene (FEP, F46) is an improved type of polytetrafluoroethylene, which is formed by suspension copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene at 55-60 ℃, also known as F46. F46 has good mechanical properties, excellent reliability, weather resistance, electrical insulation, and flame retardancy. It has low surface tension and good adhesion to metals in the molten state. This material can be used for a long time at -85~205 ℃. The pump made of this material can reach a operating temperature of 150 ℃ (200 ℃).

2. Fluorine alloy is made by directly mixing ultra-high molecular weight perfluoroethylene propylene, which is already available in China, with tetrafluoroethylene and fillers, and using physical methods. It has excellent properties of fluoroplastics, such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, good electrical insulation, and non stick surface. The characteristics of fluoroplastic alloy are: F50-1 has better high-temperature resistance and lower cost than F46; F50-2 has the excellent performance of polytetrafluoroethylene (F4) (can be used for a long time at 250 ℃, resistant to various acids, alkalis, strong oxidants and organic solvents, good electrical insulation, etc.), and solves the shortcomings of F4’s easy cold flow and poor processability. It can be formed by hot pressing and cold pressing sintering.

3. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, making it more suitable for places with temperatures below 150 ℃, but its price is relatively high. PVDF is prepared by free radical polymerization of vinylidene fluoride, with a molecular weight of up to 10?. With good mechanical properties, it is the equipment with high mechanical strength among fluoroplastics, and has very good chemical stability and weather resistance.

Its main characteristics are obvious corrosion resistance, impact resistance, aging resistance, creep resistance, etc. It can be formed using general thermoplastic processing methods, and its convenient processing performance is far inferior to other plastics. Except for concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, and a few organic solvents, it can withstand more corrosive media. The wear resistance is only inferior to ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and superior to other plastics. The temperature resistance performance is also relatively high, and the pump made of this material can reach a operating temperature of 120 ℃. The comprehensive performance of PVDF plastic is good.

4. Soluble polytetrafluoroethylene (PFA), with a temperature resistance range, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance comparable to F46.

5. Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), also known as F3, has good processing and corrosion resistance, but low temperature resistance.
